Google Analytics Key Word (Not Provided)

Wed, Nov 9th 2011 9:57 am by Mark Fitzgerald Real Estate Search Engine Optimization

A number of our clients have recently been asking why there is a new keyword in their Google Analytics called "Not Provided". Well, simply put, Google is now encrypting searches performed by those clients of theirs who are logged into Google. Google estimates that the percentage of these users should be in the lower single-digit, but that will depend on your sites traffic. You can read more about this by clicking here. I am all for Google making changes, I just hope they keep the little guys in their line of sight as well.

Increase Your Web Traffic

Wed, Jul 6th 2011 11:32 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

We have been so busy working on new features and moving Dynamic IDX into new areas, that we have not had the time to post. Today I was asked by one of our designers to read a post she had written based on some stats from a site she just recently moved from one of our competitors platforms.

Agents are always asking me, "what does Dynamic IDX offer that will make me stand out from the other Real Estate websites?"  Well in a word "Traffic". I could spend hours writing up the perfect blog for you to read, but I believe the proof is in the reality of a clients site and how well their site performs after moving from one of our competitors platforms to ours.

If you have a moment, take a look a...

Agents, Know What You Are Buying!

Tue, Sep 21st 2010 8:27 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

I want to thank Suzanne Stephens for sending us this blog post. With her permission we have posted this on our site because we believe it is very important that agents understand what they are getting when they simply frame in their property search. Enjoy

Mark Fitzgerald

Executive Director, Myrsol LLC

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you know the difference between iframed (aka framed) IDX search pages and fully integrated IDX listings, and why integrated listings can help with your search engine optimization? Here's are some graphics that may help explain the difference.

First, you need to understand that Google and the oth...

NAR Midyear 2010 - At First Glance

Sun, May 16th 2010 6:36 pm by Mark Fitzgerald General

What a week, I must hand it to everyone in the District of DC. Your average 8 hour work day along with the 3 or 4 hour commute to work each day can really make for a very long week.

We were very excited to attend the NAR Midyear 2010. We met with a number of agents looking for a complete solution. At first glance agents would walk up to our booth and say “Another Web Company”, This is expected from agents who’s prior web companies have left such a bad taste in their mouth. The good thing about being a part of Myrsol is you get a chance to show agents just how good a web company can be and back it with the testimonials from other agents. Nothing speaks better than a referral as every ag...

Mon, Apr 26th 2010 3:34 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

Wow! Let us first thank all our clients who took time out of their busy schedules to not only come out to see us but also take time at the show to share their love for MYRSOL with other agents. Our hat is off to all of you for being there as well as Heather, Roger and all the others at the Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors for such a great show and being so well organized.

I must say this being MYRSOL’s first trades show we were shocked at the number of agents who approached us looking for a better IDX solution. It was a pleasant surprise to see so many eager agents wanting to know what we do and how we could help their business.

For all our clients outside of the South Carolina ...

An Early Christmas For Myrsol’s Customers

Wed, Dec 9th 2009 9:17 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

Merry Christmas From Myrsol

An Early Christmas For Myrsol’s Customers.
Release Date By After Midnight December 23, 2009

Myrsol Real Estate CMS [Update to 2.0]
This is by far the biggest update we have ever done. I think we underestimated the time it would take to pass “quality assurance”. Yes, I’m a perfectionist when it comes to code, and I wanted to make sure everything was just “right” before we rolled this out. I didn’t want to roll it out early, but I definitely don’t want you all to continue to wait for all this great stuff.
There is once again a ton of stuff that will help improve SEO such as more control over page titles, and meta data.
Below is a list of the majority of the additions and updates. But far...

More to Come!

Wed, Oct 28th 2009 12:00 pm by Mark Fitzgerald General

We have been so busy working on new features and adding new clients that we have not blogged as often as we wanted. We are growing stronger every day and have been working on a number of great features that will be coming out at the end of November to the first of December. For the past 2 quarters, we have been taking request from our agents as to what they would like to see in their website and we are working very hard to get as many of those request into the new version as possible. Soon we will be rolling out our much requested Ajax Registration, powerful lead management tools, custom listings module for Bank Owned; FSBO; Rentals, Google Maps 3.0, Updated subdivision/neighborhood modul...

Growing Faster Than The Weeds In Our Yard

Wed, Sep 23rd 2009 8:26 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

It’s been a number of months since my last post, due to the fact that we have been putting a lot of focus on expanding. We never imagined that Dynamic IDX would have grown so fast and in so many areas the first year but here I am telling you that Dynamic IDX is now in more than 20 MLS boards in more than 10 States! As most of you know, we made our product public December 15, 2008 even though we had been working on the product for two years prior to our launch date. In less than a year we have exceeded our expectations every month and continue to grow even today in a trying economy. We can tell you that the economy of America is not failing but picking up momentum. Clients, in this new eco...

Top Producer 8i Real Estate Integration

Mon, Jun 1st 2009 2:36 am by Chad Weaber Development

Top Producer is the leading Real Estate CRM solution available with tons of useful features to convert your leads to sales. Recently, Top Producer rolled out a new batch for their Top Producer 8i product, which includes support for real time lead importing from the Dynamic IDX system.

Our integration method is fairly smart, as well. New leads to your website will be imported to Top Producer automatically - and if that same lead makes an additional inquiry, they will not be imported again.

There is NO EXTRA charges for Top Producer 8i users to have this turned on - We will walk you through the setup, or do it for you at no charge.

REALTORS® Eyes Wide Open

Mon, Apr 13th 2009 10:25 am by Mark Fitzgerald General

During the past few months I have had a number of REALTORS® tell me I should write to everyone and inform them of my beliefs when it comes to their website. This being such a passionate topic for me, I found myself writing countless pages and finally making myself stop in order to post a reasonable sized blog rather than a novel. I am sure this post is far overdue, but late or not, it is a vital read for any REALTOR® who wishes to understand the importance of his/her website.

“My website is a small part of my business.” I hear this all the time and I can tell you that your website is not a small part of your business in any way, but rather a vital part of your business. I would even go a...

Are you a CSS and Photoshop Ninja?

Sun, Apr 5th 2009 6:00 am by Chad Weaber Development

We are in desperate need to fill (1) position in assisting us with expanding our template arsenal and doing some user interface improvements to our product.

  1. Are you local? (Myrtle Beach, Surfside, Murrells Inlet..)
  2. Are you fluent in CSS?
  3. Are you a Photoshop guru? (creating your friends little "sigs" does not count)
  4. Do you have a strong understanding of web UI patterns?
  5. Do you stay up to date with all the new trends and techniques used on the web?

Basically, if you answer no to any of the above, or if you build your websites in Frontpage, you are probably the wrong person for this position.

Thumbs up if you know the following as well:

  • OOP in PHP using CakePHP.
  • Understand of ...

Is your product available in my area?

Wed, Mar 11th 2009 8:52 am by Mark Fitzgerald Development

As long as your Association of Realtors has some form of IDX, RETS or HTML feed, yes we can and there is no extra cost to you for us to setup a new area. Just about every Association of Realtors has their own feed along with their own set of rules. Dynamic IDX was built with this in mind and we are able to setup most feeds within a few days. Let’s review the process to get a data feed setup and working.

If you have had a website before I am sure the acronym RETS (Real Estate Transaction Standard) is something you are familiar with. The keyword here is standard and though it sounds nice, this standard is far from a standard when it comes to vendors. Each and every Association has the righ...

What Web Solution Is Right For Me?

Mon, Mar 2nd 2009 10:18 am by Mark Fitzgerald Development

As a realtor, you are commonly faced with the decision of what is the right web solution? Though there are a number of providers, there are only a select few methods. Some Associations even have a website and or frame solution that they will provide to their agents for a very small fee compared to most vendors. But do these solutions really help you get the traffic and quality leads you are looking for? In order to answer these questions, lets first understand what a framed solution is.

When it comes to framed solutions, for most agents, it seems like a very good fit. You have low upfront cost and very low monthly cost to boot. But with framed solutions, you still have to purchase a web ...

MLS Data Feed Questions

Sat, Feb 28th 2009 6:43 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

As with any complete IDX solution, there are MLS data feeds for each and every Association of Realtors and when property data is involved, the inevitable questions are always asked. How often do you update your feed? Will changes to the feed cost more?

When it comes to MLS data feeds, we work very hard to make sure your property data is updated daily. For the majority of Associations, this is not a problem at all but there is always maintenance with each and every MLS data feed and we have to keep a close eye on each and every one of them..

Some Association of Realtors provide us with what is called an Incremental MLS data feed (We receive only new and updated properties). Incremental M...

Qualified VS Non-Qualified Leads

Fri, Feb 27th 2009 1:59 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

Before I kick off this topic let me first introduce myself. My name is Mark Fitzgerald aka “Fitz”. I have been around Real Estate most of my life and have written a number of tools over the years to help realtors in their day to day business. For 9 years I was the VIP for development for a company in RTP called Random Games. We contracted out a number of game titles from Scrabble, Hasbro’s version(s), to War hammer Chaos gate 40k. During this time, I was also working with realtors to help them with their software needs. After 2002 I moved into Real Estate Web Development full time and stepped out of the game industry for good. One thing about working in the game industry is you lose your ...
