Phishing Email Scams By Trying To Spoof Cpanel Internal Message!

Fri, Oct 22nd 2021 2:09 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Security

Phishing email scams by trying to spoof cpanel internal messages

I know this goes without saying but if you are not sure about an email, never click on the links or even reply to it. If it pertains to your business, utilities, domain, or banking account, always first contact your provider directly from their website, phone, or their support system. Never ever trust email links!

Currently, there is a new Phishing email scam that uses Cpanel internal messages trying to scare you into clicking on them quickly with the concern that your website is running out of disk space or bandwidth. This message is very rare and very unlikely that you would get such a message unless you are the tech contact or host. These are internal messages that are passed around...

Big Corporations are destroying your organic SEO so you have to buy leads from them!

Wed, Sep 8th 2021 3:49 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Real Estate Search Engine Optimization

Big corporations that brokers/agents are moving their sites to are destroying their organic SEO in order to replace it with lead buying options.

That’s right; the big dogs are getting brokers/agents to move away from smaller companies that provide the ability to have Organic SEO and replace it with more automation that the clients really don’t want and lack Organic SEO.

They do this by offering free setup fees and a few months of monthly maintenance then hit you hard when your Organic SEO is gone and no longer brings you leads. Now you are at their mercy because as you all know building back up Organic SEO can take months or even years and yet can be taken away from you in weeks.

So ...

Back To You’re Real Estate Roots

Tue, Jun 22nd 2021 10:45 am by Mark Fitzgerald General

Thinking back many years now I remember watching my parents on the weekends preparing for an open house and taking out signs to properties on Saturday just in time for Sunday callers. I remember watching them at their desk with paper and pen writing up ads for the newspaper on Monday evenings because they had to have them in the newspaper before Wednesday's end of the day.

Those days are gone now or are they? Maybe they are just evolving a bit or maybe the newspaper ads time they spent is now being used for blog posts on their website and the open house time is still used but enhanced as they also bring their computers and have the listing showing on the tvs throughout the house.

I kno...

Google Maps API Keys, Is Yours Restricted? Did you setup a budget?

Tue, Aug 11th 2020 1:32 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

If you have a website and you’re using Google Maps then you have a Google Maps API key.  In order to use that key Google requires you to put a credit card on file and they give you $200/mo credit and if you go over that you will get charged.

What many don’t know or are just too busy to know is that your API key is easily found by others and if you did not restrict it to your domain or IP then others could be using your API key costing you money.

Our suggestion is to add a site restriction for each of your Google API Keys and also add a budget so that if you do go over the $200 you will not get an unexpected bill.

Set up a budget:

Why Secure Your Site with HTTPS and SSL

Tue, Dec 19th 2017 2:36 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

Why Secure Your Site with HTTPS and SSL?

  1. Google ranks HTTPS sites higher.
  2. Visitors feel more secure because popular browsers such as Chrome and Firefox have started to alert users against using non-secure sites by displaying warning messages and labeling them “Not Secure”.
  3. Facebook requires you to provide a secure URL for your web page in order to set up your Facebook tab.
  4. It’s really no longer an option if you want to look professional to your clients

It’s no secret that Google and other search engines now give a possible SEO boost if your site is secure with an HTTPS. A great blog to read about the changes Google made can be read here.

In 2014 Google made an announcement that ...

Stop Playing Website Roulette

Thu, Jan 28th 2016 10:25 am by Mark Fitzgerald Development

So you're not getting any leads with your website? Are you just playing roulette with your website money?  The first thing most people do is look at moving to a different website provider, but that’s not always the best solution.

With most website providers, you don't have the flexibility to select a designer.  You don't receive marketing services or even an SEO expert outside of their company. So in order to have more options, you end up having to move your website to another company. What does that cost? Well let's see... first you have to find a company that has a great reputation. Next, that company needs to have the features that you need to run your business and the flexibility yo...

Know Your Real Estate Website Platform

Mon, Feb 23rd 2015 2:43 pm by Mark Fitzgerald General

For the past year, I have had a number of agents come to us from inexpensive $5.00 and $10.00 a month sites who were upset about the money they put into those sites, only to get a site that ran slower and slower every month and was very limited on what they could really do, in return.  Though these inexpensive sites might be okay for a part time agent, full time agents should make a stronger investment when it comes to something that will represent them in their market.

There are a number of Real Estate solutions out there for agents to shuffle through, but if you're really looking for a solid Real Estate website, then you might want to take a few things into consideration.

Below is my l...

Though we have had RSS feeds for a very long time, we have been asked by our clients to also provide an email system for properties to their clients. We have taken a lot of time to make sure this system was put in place. All emails comply with the unsubscribed standards and are sent from a separate system in order to preserve your email integrity. You will also have the ability to modify the email templates that are going out to your clients. We are not stopping there, there is more coming soon!

Well Other Vendor's Do it; Simpler RETS Feeds Save Realtors Money!

Thu, Feb 9th 2012 3:53 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

I have been working on data feeds for more than 8 years and I am just horrified at how many MLS' have no clue how to even pull their own RETS feeds. We have been dealing with a number of MLS' where they have decided to move to another RETS provider because they are cheaper or because the board made the decision not realizing the impact on their agents and their vendors.

The answer, "other vendors do it" is one that we get when having issues with some RETS providers, and to me, is not a solid response because they have no clue how many hoops other vendors have had to go through in order to change feeds. I would like to see MLS' pull a full feed (in-house) and then a partial feed from thei...

Google Analytics Key Word (Not Provided)

Wed, Nov 9th 2011 9:57 am by Mark Fitzgerald Real Estate Search Engine Optimization

A number of our clients have recently been asking why there is a new keyword in their Google Analytics called "Not Provided". Well, simply put, Google is now encrypting searches performed by those clients of theirs who are logged into Google. Google estimates that the percentage of these users should be in the lower single-digit, but that will depend on your sites traffic. You can read more about this by clicking here. I am all for Google making changes, I just hope they keep the little guys in their line of sight as well.

Increase Your Web Traffic

Wed, Jul 6th 2011 11:32 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

We have been so busy working on new features and moving Dynamic IDX into new areas, that we have not had the time to post. Today I was asked by one of our designers to read a post she had written based on some stats from a site she just recently moved from one of our competitors platforms.

Agents are always asking me, "what does Dynamic IDX offer that will make me stand out from the other Real Estate websites?"  Well in a word "Traffic". I could spend hours writing up the perfect blog for you to read, but I believe the proof is in the reality of a clients site and how well their site performs after moving from one of our competitors platforms to ours.

If you have a moment, take a look a...
