Google Maps API Keys, Is Yours Restricted? Did you setup a budget?
Tue, Aug 11th 2020 1:32 pm by Mark Fitzgerald DevelopmentIf you have a website and you’re using Google Maps then you have a Google Maps API key. In order to use that key Google requires you to put a credit card on file and they give you $200/mo credit and if you go over that you will get charged.
What many don’t know or are just too busy to know is that your API key is easily found by others and if you did not restrict it to your domain or IP then others could be using your API key costing you money.
Our suggestion is to add a site restriction for each of your Google API Keys and also add a budget so that if you do go over the $200 you will not get an unexpected bill.
Set up a budget:

Why Secure Your Site with HTTPS and SSL
Tue, Dec 19th 2017 2:36 pm by Mark Fitzgerald DevelopmentWhy Secure Your Site with HTTPS and SSL?
- Google ranks HTTPS sites higher.
- Visitors feel more secure because popular browsers such as Chrome and Firefox have started to alert users against using non-secure sites by displaying warning messages and labeling them “Not Secure”.
- Facebook requires you to provide a secure URL for your web page in order to set up your Facebook tab.
- It’s really no longer an option if you want to look professional to your clients
It’s no secret that Google and other search engines now give a possible SEO boost if your site is secure with an HTTPS. A great blog to read about the changes Google made can be read here.
In 2014 Google made an announcement that ...

Stop Playing Website Roulette
Thu, Jan 28th 2016 10:25 am by Mark Fitzgerald DevelopmentSo you're not getting any leads with your website? Are you just playing roulette with your website money? The first thing most people do is look at moving to a different website provider, but that’s not always the best solution.
With most website providers, you don't have the flexibility to select a designer. You don't receive marketing services or even an SEO expert outside of their company. So in order to have more options, you end up having to move your website to another company. What does that cost? Well let's see... first you have to find a company that has a great reputation. Next, that company needs to have the features that you need to run your business and the flexibility yo...

Though we have had RSS feeds for a very long time, we have been asked by our clients to also provide an email system for properties to their clients. We have taken a lot of time to make sure this system was put in place. All emails comply with the unsubscribed standards and are sent from a separate system in order to preserve your email integrity. You will also have the ability to modify the email templates that are going out to your clients. We are not stopping there, there is more coming soon!

Well Other Vendor's Do it; Simpler RETS Feeds Save Realtors Money!
Thu, Feb 9th 2012 3:53 pm by Mark Fitzgerald DevelopmentI have been working on data feeds for more than 8 years and I am just horrified at how many MLS' have no clue how to even pull their own RETS feeds. We have been dealing with a number of MLS' where they have decided to move to another RETS provider because they are cheaper or because the board made the decision not realizing the impact on their agents and their vendors.
The answer, "other vendors do it" is one that we get when having issues with some RETS providers, and to me, is not a solid response because they have no clue how many hoops other vendors have had to go through in order to change feeds. I would like to see MLS' pull a full feed (in-house) and then a partial feed from thei...

Increase Your Web Traffic
Wed, Jul 6th 2011 11:32 pm by Mark Fitzgerald DevelopmentWe have been so busy working on new features and moving Dynamic IDX into new areas, that we have not had the time to post. Today I was asked by one of our designers to read a post she had written based on some stats from a site she just recently moved from one of our competitors platforms.
Agents are always asking me, "what does Dynamic IDX offer that will make me stand out from the other Real Estate websites?" Well in a word "Traffic". I could spend hours writing up the perfect blog for you to read, but I believe the proof is in the reality of a clients site and how well their site performs after moving from one of our competitors platforms to ours.
If you have a moment, take a look a...

Tue, Sep 21st 2010 8:27 pm by Mark Fitzgerald DevelopmentI want to thank Suzanne Stephens for sending us this blog post. With her permission we have posted this on our site because we believe it is very important that agents understand what they are getting when they simply frame in their property search. Enjoy

Wow! Let us first thank all our clients who took time out of their busy schedules to not only come out to see us but also take time at the show to share their love for MYRSOL with other agents. I must say this being MYRSOL’s first trades show we were shocked at the number of agents who approached us looking for a better IDX solution. It was a pleasant surprise to see so many eager agents wanting to know what we do and how we could help their business.
For all our clients outside of the South Carolina ...

An Early Christmas For Myrsol’s Customers.
Release Date By After Midnight December 23, 2009
Myrsol Real Estate CMS [Update to 2.0]
This is by far the biggest update we have ever done. I think we underestimated the time it would take to pass “quality assurance”. Yes, I’m a perfectionist when it comes to code, and I wanted to make sure everything was just “right” before we rolled this out. I didn’t want to roll it out early, but I definitely don’t want you all to continue to wait for all this great stuff.
There is once again a ton of stuff that will help improve SEO such as more control over page titles, and meta data.
Below is a list of the majority of the additions and updates. But far...

Growing Faster Than The Weeds In Our Yard
Wed, Sep 23rd 2009 8:26 pm by Mark Fitzgerald DevelopmentIt’s been a number of months since my last post, due to the fact that we have been putting a lot of focus on expanding. We never imagined that Dynamic IDX would have grown so fast and in so many areas the first year but here I am telling you that Dynamic IDX is now in more than 20 MLS boards in more than 10 States! As most of you know, we made our product public December 15, 2008 even though we had been working on the product for two years prior to our launch date. In less than a year we have exceeded our expectations every month and continue to grow even today in a trying economy. We can tell you that the economy of America is not failing but picking up momentum. Clients, in this new eco...

Top Producer 8i Real Estate Integration
Mon, Jun 1st 2009 2:36 am by Chad Weaber DevelopmentTop Producer is the leading Real Estate CRM solution available with tons of useful features to convert your leads to sales. Recently, Top Producer rolled out a new batch for their Top Producer 8i product, which includes support for real time lead importing from the Dynamic IDX system.
Our integration method is fairly smart, as well. New leads to your website will be imported to Top Producer automatically - and if that same lead makes an additional inquiry, they will not be imported again.
There is NO EXTRA charges for Top Producer 8i users to have this turned on - We will walk you through the setup, or do it for you at no charge.

Are you a CSS and Photoshop Ninja?
Sun, Apr 5th 2009 6:00 am by Chad Weaber DevelopmentWe are in desperate need to fill (1) position in assisting us with expanding our template arsenal and doing some user interface improvements to our product.
- Are you local? (Myrtle Beach, Surfside, Murrells Inlet..)
- Are you fluent in CSS?
- Are you a Photoshop guru? (creating your friends little "sigs" does not count)
- Do you have a strong understanding of web UI patterns?
- Do you stay up to date with all the new trends and techniques used on the web?
Basically, if you answer no to any of the above, or if you build your websites in Frontpage, you are probably the wrong person for this position.
Thumbs up if you know the following as well:
- OOP in PHP using CakePHP.
- Understand of ...

Is your product available in my area?
Wed, Mar 11th 2009 8:52 am by Mark Fitzgerald DevelopmentAs long as your Association of Realtors has some form of IDX, RETS or HTML feed, yes we can and there is no extra cost to you for us to setup a new area. Just about every Association of Realtors has their own feed along with their own set of rules. Dynamic IDX was built with this in mind and we are able to setup most feeds within a few days. Let’s review the process to get a data feed setup and working.
If you have had a website before I am sure the acronym RETS (Real Estate Transaction Standard) is something you are familiar with. The keyword here is standard and though it sounds nice, this standard is far from a standard when it comes to vendors. Each and every Association has the righ...

What Web Solution Is Right For Me?
Mon, Mar 2nd 2009 10:18 am by Mark Fitzgerald DevelopmentAs a realtor, you are commonly faced with the decision of what is the right web solution? Though there are a number of providers, there are only a select few methods. Some Associations even have a website and or frame solution that they will provide to their agents for a very small fee compared to most vendors. But do these solutions really help you get the traffic and quality leads you are looking for? In order to answer these questions, lets first understand what a framed solution is.
When it comes to framed solutions, for most agents, it seems like a very good fit. You have low upfront cost and very low monthly cost to boot. But with framed solutions, you still have to purchase a web ...
