Why Secure Your Site with HTTPS and SSL

Tue, Dec 19th 2017 2:36 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

Why Secure Your Site with HTTPS and SSL?

  1. Google ranks HTTPS sites higher.
  2. Visitors feel more secure because popular browsers such as Chrome and Firefox have started to alert users against using non-secure sites by displaying warning messages and labeling them “Not Secure”.
  3. Facebook requires you to provide a secure URL for your web page in order to set up your Facebook tab.
  4. It’s really no longer an option if you want to look professional to your clients

It’s no secret that Google and other search engines now give a possible SEO boost if your site is secure with an HTTPS. A great blog to read about the changes Google made can be read here.

In 2014 Google made an announcement that ...

Stop Playing Website Roulette

Thu, Jan 28th 2016 10:25 am by Mark Fitzgerald Development

So you're not getting any leads with your website? Are you just playing roulette with your website money?  The first thing most people do is look at moving to a different website provider, but that’s not always the best solution.

With most website providers, you don't have the flexibility to select a designer.  You don't receive marketing services or even an SEO expert outside of their company. So in order to have more options, you end up having to move your website to another company. What does that cost? Well let's see... first you have to find a company that has a great reputation. Next, that company needs to have the features that you need to run your business and the flexibility yo...

Know Your Real Estate Website Platform

Mon, Feb 23rd 2015 2:43 pm by Mark Fitzgerald General

For the past year, I have had a number of agents come to us from inexpensive $5.00 and $10.00 a month sites who were upset about the money they put into those sites, only to get a site that ran slower and slower every month and was very limited on what they could really do, in return.  Though these inexpensive sites might be okay for a part time agent, full time agents should make a stronger investment when it comes to something that will represent them in their market.

There are a number of Real Estate solutions out there for agents to shuffle through, but if you're really looking for a solid Real Estate website, then you might want to take a few things into consideration.

Below is my l...

Dynamic IDX Property Email/Save Searches Are Here

Wed, Apr 30th 2014 5:04 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

Dynamic IDX now supports property emails, as well as property RSS feeds for your clients saved searches. Though we have had RSS feeds for a very long time, we have been asked by our clients to also provide an email system for properties to their clients. We have taken a lot of time to make sure this system was put in place. All emails comply with the unsubscribed standards and are sent from a separate system in order to preserve your email integrity. You will also have the ability to modify the email templates that are going out to your clients. We are not stopping there, there is more coming soon!

Well Other Vendor's Do it; Simpler RETS Feeds Save Realtors Money!

Thu, Feb 9th 2012 3:53 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

I have been working on data feeds for more than 8 years and I am just horrified at how many MLS' have no clue how to even pull their own RETS feeds. We have been dealing with a number of MLS' where they have decided to move to another RETS provider because they are cheaper or because the board made the decision not realizing the impact on their agents and their vendors.

The answer, "other vendors do it" is one that we get when having issues with some RETS providers, and to me, is not a solid response because they have no clue how many hoops other vendors have had to go through in order to change feeds. I would like to see MLS' pull a full feed (in-house) and then a partial feed from thei...

Google Analytics Key Word (Not Provided)

Wed, Nov 9th 2011 9:57 am by Mark Fitzgerald Real Estate Search Engine Optimization

A number of our clients have recently been asking why there is a new keyword in their Google Analytics called "Not Provided". Well, simply put, Google is now encrypting searches performed by those clients of theirs who are logged into Google. Google estimates that the percentage of these users should be in the lower single-digit, but that will depend on your sites traffic. You can read more about this by clicking here. I am all for Google making changes, I just hope they keep the little guys in their line of sight as well.

Increase Your Web Traffic

Wed, Jul 6th 2011 11:32 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

We have been so busy working on new features and moving Dynamic IDX into new areas, that we have not had the time to post. Today I was asked by one of our designers to read a post she had written based on some stats from a site she just recently moved from one of our competitors platforms.

Agents are always asking me, "what does Dynamic IDX offer that will make me stand out from the other Real Estate websites?"  Well in a word "Traffic". I could spend hours writing up the perfect blog for you to read, but I believe the proof is in the reality of a clients site and how well their site performs after moving from one of our competitors platforms to ours.

If you have a moment, take a look a...

Agents, Know What You Are Buying!

Tue, Sep 21st 2010 8:27 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

I want to thank Suzanne Stephens for sending us this blog post. With her permission we have posted this on our site because we believe it is very important that agents understand what they are getting when they simply frame in their property search. Enjoy

Mark Fitzgerald

Do you know the difference between iframed (aka framed) IDX search pages and fully integrated IDX listings, and why integrated listings can help with your search engine optimization? Here's are some graphics that may help explain the difference.

NAR Midyear 2010 - At First Glance

Sun, May 16th 2010 6:36 pm by Mark Fitzgerald General

What a week, I must hand it to everyone in the District of DC. Your average 8 hour work day along with the 3 or 4 hour commute to work each day can really make for a very long week.

We were very excited to attend the NAR Midyear 2010. We met with a number of agents looking for a complete solution. At first glance agents would walk up to our booth and say “Another Web Company”, This is expected from agents who’s prior web companies have left such a bad taste in their mouth. The good thing about being a part of Myrsol is you get a chance to show agents just how good a web company can be and back it with the testimonials from other agents. Nothing speaks better than a referral as every ag...

Mon, Apr 26th 2010 3:34 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

Wow! Let us first thank all our clients who took time out of their busy schedules to not only come out to see us but also take time at the show to share their love for MYRSOL with other agents. Our hat is off to all of you for being there as well as Heather, Roger and all the others at the Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors for such a great show and being so well organized.

I must say this being MYRSOL’s first trades show we were shocked at the number of agents who approached us looking for a better IDX solution. It was a pleasant surprise to see so many eager agents wanting to know what we do and how we could help their business.

For all our clients outside of the South Carolina ...

An Early Christmas For Myrsol’s Customers

Wed, Dec 9th 2009 9:17 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

Merry Christmas From Myrsol

An Early Christmas For Myrsol’s Customers.
Release Date By After Midnight December 23, 2009

Myrsol Real Estate CMS [Update to 2.0]
This is by far the biggest update we have ever done. I think we underestimated the time it would take to pass “quality assurance”. Yes, I’m a perfectionist when it comes to code, and I wanted to make sure everything was just “right” before we rolled this out. I didn’t want to roll it out early, but I definitely don’t want you all to continue to wait for all this great stuff.
There is once again a ton of stuff that will help improve SEO such as more control over page titles, and meta data.
Below is a list of the majority of the additions and updates. But far...

More to Come!

Wed, Oct 28th 2009 12:00 pm by Mark Fitzgerald General

We have been so busy working on new features and adding new clients that we have not blogged as often as we wanted. We are growing stronger every day and have been working on a number of great features that will be coming out at the end of November to the first of December. For the past 2 quarters, we have been taking request from our agents as to what they would like to see in their website and we are working very hard to get as many of those request into the new version as possible. Soon we will be rolling out our much requested Ajax Registration, powerful lead management tools, custom listings module for Bank Owned; FSBO; Rentals, Google Maps 3.0, Updated subdivision/neighborhood modul...

Growing Faster Than The Weeds In Our Yard

Wed, Sep 23rd 2009 8:26 pm by Mark Fitzgerald Development

It’s been a number of months since my last post, due to the fact that we have been putting a lot of focus on expanding. We never imagined that Dynamic IDX would have grown so fast and in so many areas the first year but here I am telling you that Dynamic IDX is now in more than 20 MLS boards in more than 10 States! As most of you know, we made our product public December 15, 2008 even though we had been working on the product for two years prior to our launch date. In less than a year we have exceeded our expectations every month and continue to grow even today in a trying economy. We can tell you that the economy of America is not failing but picking up momentum. Clients, in this new eco...

REALTORS® Eyes Wide Open

Mon, Apr 13th 2009 10:25 am by Mark Fitzgerald General

During the past few months I have had a number of REALTORS® tell me I should write to everyone and inform them of my beliefs when it comes to their website. This being such a passionate topic for me, I found myself writing countless pages and finally making myself stop in order to post a reasonable sized blog rather than a novel. I am sure this post is far overdue, but late or not, it is a vital read for any REALTOR® who wishes to understand the importance of his/her website.

“My website is a small part of my business.” I hear this all the time and I can tell you that your website is not a small part of your business in any way, but rather a vital part of your business. I would even go a...
